Designed on a 2,000 sq.ft plot along the Puducherry–Tamil Nadu border, this residence balances immediate family requirements with long-term flexibility. The home is planned as a compact 2BHK with a clear spatial hierarchy, allowing generous outdoor spaces around the building while maintaining efficient internal circulation. A defining architectural feature is the double-height pooja space, which creates a strong visual focal point and introduces natural light deep into the heart of the home.
The planning emphasizes openness through gardens surrounding the residence, interconnected outdoor spaces, and stepped, levelled terraces that extend the living experience beyond the enclosed interiors. These terraces function as usable outdoor rooms while softening the building mass and creating multiple viewpoints across the property. The simple architectural language, curved balcony edges, and carefully proportioned volumes give the residence a contemporary yet timeless character.
A key aspect of the design is its incremental growth strategy. While the residence is completed as a comfortable two-bedroom home, the structural and spatial planning anticipates future family needs by allowing two additional bedrooms to be added at the first and second-floor levels without disrupting the original layout. This phased approach ensures the house can evolve over time, making it a practical, cost-efficient solution that adapts to changing lifestyles while preserving the integrity of the original design.
