Designed as a contemporary 6-bedroom residence, this concept responds to the client's lifestyle while drawing inspiration from Islamic architectural principles. The planning is organized around a generous open court created by positioning the built mass predominantly along one edge of the site. This strategy establishes a private outdoor space that enhances daylight, cross ventilation, and visual connectivity throughout the home while maintaining privacy from the street.
A basement parking level frees the ground plane from vehicular movement, allowing the entrance sequence, landscaped courtyard, and living spaces to become the primary experience. The residence is composed as a series of clean white volumes enriched with warm timber elements, deep overhangs, and finely detailed arches that reinterpret traditional Islamic architectural language in a contemporary manner. Decorative screens, rhythmic openings, and carefully proportioned colonnades filter light and create ever-changing patterns of shadow across the interiors.
The architectural language balances elegance with functionality, creating spaces that are both grand and intimate. Large openings establish a seamless relationship between the interior and the landscaped courtyard, while covered balconies and verandahs provide shaded outdoor living areas suited to Chennai's tropical climate. Every elevation has been carefully composed to maintain a refined and timeless character.
The interior design continues the architectural narrative through natural materials, restrained finishes, handcrafted details, and a palette that complements the residence's classical proportions. Together, the architecture and interiors create a home that is rooted in tradition while embracing contemporary living.
