The ANTARA Design Studio was conceived as a compact material experience centre that functions both as a client interaction space and a working design studio. Rather than a conventional retail showroom, the space is planned to allow clients to experience finishes, textures and materials in a realistic architectural setting. The open layout seamlessly integrates product displays, meeting spaces and workstations, creating an environment where material selection naturally becomes part of the design discussion.
The design follows a modern industrial aesthetic, combining exposed black ceilings, steel detailing, warm timber flooring and clean white surfaces to create a neutral backdrop for the displayed products. Vertical display systems maximize the limited wall area while maintaining visual clarity, allowing laminates, veneers, wooden flooring, wall panels and surface finishes to become the primary visual elements. Warm focused lighting enhances the natural grain, texture and colour of each material, ensuring accurate representation under controlled lighting conditions.
Every element was planned with functionality and flexibility in mind. The glass-enclosed design office maintains visual connectivity with the showroom, reinforcing transparency between the design process and material selection. Careful spatial planning, durable finishes and efficient circulation allow the studio to function simultaneously as a design workspace, product gallery and client consultation centre, delivering a professional environment that reflects the studio's design philosophy while making efficient use of a compact footprint.
