Set along Chennai’s iconic Marina Promenade, this newly completed Lab Building and Kitchen & Dining Block stand as a thoughtful extension to the century-old campus of The Lady Wellingdon School. The design draws deeply from the architectural vocabulary of the original 100-year-old main building, embracing its vernacular charm, proportions, and earthy character while integrating modern spatial functionality and construction techniques.

The architecture celebrates the school’s enduring legacy — reviving the spirit of the past while building for the future. Every design element, from the material palette and detailing to the scale and massing, is consciously composed to resonate with the existing context, ensuring a seamless dialogue between the old and the new.

While the Lab Block provides well-ventilated, naturally lit spaces for science and learning, the Kitchen & Dining Block offers a welcoming environment that fosters community and togetherness among students. Both structures reflect a balance between tradition and innovation, rooted in context and sustainability.
