Client: Dr.Balamurugan & Family

This project is a custom-designed 4 BHK individual bungalow for Dr. Balamurugan in Cuddalore. The residence is planned over a built-up area of 2,400 sq.ft and sits comfortably on a 4,100 sq.ft site, allowing generous space for both functional zoning and landscape openness.

A key feature of the design is the integration of professional and personal spaces without overlap. The bungalow includes a dedicated consultation room with an independent access point, ensuring privacy for the family while providing comfort and convenience for patients. The main residence has its own separate entry, maintaining a clear division between home life and professional consultations.

Architecturally, the bungalow follows a courtyard-centric planning approach, encouraging natural light, cross ventilation, and thermal comfort. The addition of a sloping roof enhances climatic performance while giving the home a warm, traditional character. The courtyard, skylights, and well-placed openings ensure the interior stays bright, airy, and connected to nature throughout the day.

The exterior design includes a separate car-parking roof structure, intentionally kept detached from the main building to maintain clean circulation and avoid visual clutter. The property also features a 450 sq.ft open front yard, ideal for personalized outdoor activities and perfectly suited for hosting family functions, festivals, and small gatherings—a multifunctional space that adds value to the overall layout.

Overall, the project balances residential comfort, professional usability, climatic responsiveness, and lifestyle flexibility, tailored specifically to the needs of Dr. Balamurugan and his family.
